NSDL releases Latest Version for e-TDS/ TCS RPU and FUVs for Quarterly Returns

Latest versions of e-TDS/ TCS RPU (Version 1.7) and FUVs (Versions 2.148 and 5.2) for Quarterly Returns released by TIN-NSDL

TIN-NSDL has released new versions for e-TDS/ TCS Return Preparation Utility (RPU version 1.7) and File Validation Utilities (FVU v. 2.148 for 2007-08~2009-10 and versin 5.2 for 2010-11 onwards). The updated RPU/ FUVs are available for download at TIN-NSDL website.

Key Features  of new RPU version 1.7 of TIN-NSDL

A. Addition of new fields for Form 24Q-Q4 under Annexure ll (i.e. salary details) as below:

1. Aggregate rent payment exceeds rupees one lakh during the previous year: –

i) The above is applicable for regular as well as correction statements pertaining to FY 2016-17 onwards.

ii) If the rent payment exceeds rupees one lakh, in such case, flag value ‘Yes’ is to be mentioned under the above referred field, else flag value ‘No’ is to be mentioned.

iii) If the flag value is ‘Yes’, in such case, PAN and Name of the landlord is to be mandatorily mentioned. The details (i.e. PAN and Name) of maximum to four landlords can be mentioned.

2. Deduction of interest under the head ‘Income from house property’ (which is paid to the lender):

i) The above is applicable for regular as well as correction statements pertaining to FY 2016-17 onwards.

ii) If the interest is paid to the lender, in such case, flag value ‘Yes’ is to be mentioned under the above referred field, else flag value ‘No’ is to be mentioned.

iii) If the flag value is ‘Yes’, in such case, PAN and Name of the lender is to be mandatorily mentioned. The details (i.e. PAN and Name) of maximum to four lenders can be mentioned.

3. Deduction of tax from contributions paid by the trustees of an approved superannuation fund:

i) The above is applicable for regular as well as correction statements pertaining to FY 2013-14 onwards.

ii) If the contribution is paid by the trustee, in such case, flag value ‘Yes’ is to be mentioned under the above referred field, else flag value ‘No’ is to be mentioned.

iii) If the flag value is ‘Yes’, in such case, below fields are applicable and values in all these fields is to be mandatorily mentioned:

a) Name of the superannuation fund

b) Date from which the employee has contributed to the superannuation fund

c) Date to which the employee has contributed to the superannuation fund

d) The amount of contribution repaid on account of principal and interest

e) The average rate of deduction of tax during the preceding three years

f) The amount of tax deducted on repayment

g) Gross total income including contribution repaid on account of principal and interest from superannuation fund.

B. Addition of new fields for Form 27Q under Annexure l (i.e. deductee details) as below:

1. The following new fields have been incorporated:

a) Email ID of the deductee

b) Contact number of deductee

c) Address of deductee in country of residence

d) Tax Identification Number/ Unique Identification Number of deductee

2. The above is applicable for regular as well as correction statements pertaining to FY 2016-17 onwards.

3. The values in all the above new fields will be mandatory, if all the below conditions are fulfilled else the values in these fields are optional.

a) Value in the field “PAN of the deductee” from deductee details record is PANINVALID or PANAPPLIED or PANNOTAVBL and

b) Value in the field “Rate at which Tax Deducted” from deductee details record is less than 20% and

c) Value in the field “Remarks 1” from deductee details record is “C”

C. Incorporation of latest File Validation Utility (FVU) version 5.2 (applicable for TDS/TCS statements pertaining to FY 2010-11 onwards) and FVU version 2.148 (applicable for TDS/TCS statements from FY 2007-08 up to FY 2009-10).

TIN-NSDL’s e-TDS/TCS RPU Ver. 1.7 for Regular & Correction Statement(s) from FY 2007-08 onwards

e-TDS/TCS Regular & Correction Statement(s) for FY 2016-17 (2007-08 and onwards) in Forms 24Q, 26Q, 27Q and 27EQ) can be prepared using this RPU/ utility. It’s a Java based utility. JRE (Java Run-time Environment) [versions: SUN JRE: 1.6 onwards] should be installed on the computer where the e-TDS/ TCS FVU is being installed. Java is freely downloadable from http://java.sun.com and http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk or you can ask your vendor providing computer facilities (hardware) to install the same for you.

The e-TDS/TCS RPU setup file (e-TDS/TCS RPU.zip) comprises of three files and rest are supporting jar files. Main jar files are as listed below and supporting jar files are mentioned in Readme.txt:

i) TDS RPU Readme.txt This file contains instructions for setup of the e-TDS RPU.

ii) TDS_RPU.jar: This is RPU program file. This is executable file.

iii) TDS_FVU_STANALONE_5.2.jar: This is the FVU program file.(for financial year greater than 2009-10).

iv) TDS_FVU_STANDALONE_2.148.jar: This is the FVU program file (for financial year less than equal to 2009-10).

These files are in an executable zip file. These files are required for installing the e-TDS/TCS FVU.
