E-Passbook Launched for EPFO Members (PF Subscribers)

The Union Minister for Labor and Employment, Shri Bhupender Yadav, recently launched e-passbook for the members of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). This new initiative is aimed at providing greater convenience to the members by enabling them to view more details of their accounts in graphical representations. This service is designed to enable members to view their transaction history and balance statements online without the need to visit the EPFO office. What is the E-Passbook?

The e-Passbook is a digital statement of PF account, which can be accessed and downloaded online as per convenience of the EPFO members. It is a document that contains all the important details of an individual’s EPF account, such as the contributions made by the employer and the employee, interest earned and the total amount accumulated in the account.

Benefits of the E-Passbook

The e-passbook provides several benefits to the members of the EPFO, including:

1. Easy Accessibility

The e-passbook can be accessed online, making it easy for members to view their EPF account details from anywhere and at any time 24×7. Members can also download and print the e-passbook for their records.

2. Graphical Representation of Account Details

The e-passbook provides a graphical representation of the account details, making it easier for members to understand and analyze their EPF account activity. This feature also enables members to track their contributions and interest earned over time, helping them to plan their finances better.

3. Real-Time Updates

The e-passbook is updated in real-time, providing members with the most up-to-date information on their EPF account. This feature ensures that members have the latest information on their account balance, contributions made, and interest earned.

How to Access or Download the E-Passbook

Accessing or downloading the e-passbook is a simple process. Members can follow the steps below to access their e-passbook:

i) Visit the EPFO member portal.

ii) Log in using their Universal Account Number (UAN) and password.

iii) Click on the “Download” option and select “Download Passbook”.

iv) Select the financial year for which the member wishes to view the e-passbook.

v) The e-passbook will be downloaded in PDF format.

What to do if there are any discrepancies in the EPFO e-Passbook?

In case you find any discrepancies in your e-Passbook, you can raise a complaint with the EPFO. You can do this by following the below steps:

i) Log in to the EPFO website using your UAN and password;

ii) Click on the ‘Raise Grievance’ option;

iii) Select the type of grievance and provide the necessary details; and

iv) Click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Once your complaint is registered, the EPFO will investigate the issue and provide a resolution within the stipulated time frame.

How to update personal details

To update your personal details in the EPFO e-Passbook, you need to follow the below steps:

i) Log in to the EPFO website using your UAN and password;

ii) Click on the ‘Manage’ option;

iii) Click on the ‘KYC’ option; and

iv) Upload the necessary documents to update your personal details.

Once the documents are verified, your personal details will be updated in the e-Passbook.


The launch of the e-passbook by the Union Minister for Labor and Employment, Shri Bhupender Yadav, is a welcome initiative for the members of the EPFO. The EPF members can now experience greater convenience, easy accessibility and real-time updates.
