ED attaches Rs 22.67 cr Properties in Kaustav Ray PMLA case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted search operations at the offices of M/s RP Infosystems Ltd and Kaustuv Ray, the owner of Kolkata TV, and has attached property worth Rs 22.67 crore in connection with a PMLA case.

During the search operation at six locations, the ED has seized numerous incriminating documents and electronic devices.

Based on two first information reports that the CBI in Kolkata filed against Kaustuv Ray, the owner of Kolkata TV, and his companies, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has opened a money laundering investigation into the matter. A banking consortium that was headed by Canara Bank was the victim of fraud and dishonesty committed by Kaustuv Ray. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has already brought two chargesheets against Kaustuv Ray and other individuals.

During the course of the investigation, properties worth Rs 22.67 crore have been attached, and the ED has filed one prosecution complaint against Kaustuv Ray and others. The Special Court (PMLA) has taken cognizance of the Money Laundering offence against them. At the end of the ED, further investigation is underway.
