Aadhaar Mandatory for NSC, KVP, PPF, etc. Small Saving Deposits; Rules Amended

Govt. Notifies Amendment in Rules for Small Saving Schemes (NSC, KVP, PPP, PO Savings Bank) for Making Aadhaar Linking of Deposits Mandatory

Govt. has made Aadhaar linking of all post office deposits, PPF (Public Provident Fund), the National Savings Certificate scheme and Kisan Vikas Patra, etc. mandatory. The existing depositors have been given time upto 31 Dec. 2017 to provide the 12 digit unique identification number/ Aadhaar.

Accordingly, the Govt. has notified Amendment in Rules for Small Saving Schemes (PPF, KVP, NSC and PO Savings Bank) for  making Aadhaar Linking of Deposits mandatory, latest by 31 Dec. 2017. However, where where Aadhaar number has not been assigned, the depositor can submit proof of application of enrollment for Aadhaar.
