ICAI opens new Branch in Gandhinagar, Gujarat (WIRC)

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the establishment of a new branch in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, which will be known as the Gandhinagar Branch of Western India Regional Council. This decision has been made in accordance with Regulation 159(1) of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, and is effective from March 23, 2023.

The Headquarter and Jurisdiction of the Branch

The headquarter of the Gandhinagar Branch of Western India Regional Council shall be situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and its jurisdiction will include the following 16 cities/towns located within a radius of 50 kilometers from the municipal limits of Gandhinagar:

i) Gandhinagar;

ii) Dehgam;

iii) Kadi;

iv) Kalal;

v) Mansa;

vi) Mehsana;

vii) Vijapur (GJX);

viii) AdalaJ;

ix) Chhatral;

x) Chhatral (INA);

xi) Chiloda (Naroda);

xii) Mahudi;

xiii) Punadra

xiv) Saij;

xv) Himatnagar; and

xvi) Visnagar.

Functions of the Branch

As per sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 159, the Gandhinagar Branch of Western India Regional Council shall function subject to the control, supervision, and directions of the Council through Western India Regional Council. The Branch shall carry out the directions issued by the Council from time to time.
