ICAI removes Delhi CA Mohit Bansal from Register of Members

The name of CA Mohit Bansal of New Delhi (M. No. 510652) has been removed from the Register of Members, effective March 1, 2023, according to a notification issued by the ICAI.

In accordance with Section 20(1)(d) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 and Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a notification indicating that Mr. Mohit Bansal, a member of the institute (Membership Number 510652), residing at KD-209, Pitampura, Delhi-110088, has been deemed to have incurred a disability under Section 8(v) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, read in conjunction with Section 20(1)(d). This is due to Mr. Bansal’s conviction by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi for the offences under Section 354 and 506(II) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

Subsequently, the Council of the ICAI provided an opportunity for Shri Mohit Bansal to present his case, in accordance with the directives issued by the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi.

Finally, Council of the ICAI has decided to remove Shri Mohit Bansal’s name from the Register of Members under Section 20(1)(d) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. This decision was made based on the grounds that Shri Mohit Bansal had incurred a disability as specified in Section 8(v) of the CA Act, 1949.

The ICAI has officially announced in the Gazette that the name of Mr. Mohit Bansal, a member of the organization with Membership Number 510652, will be removed from the Register of Members. As a result, Mr. Bansal will no longer be permitted to practice as a Chartered Accountant from the date of publication of this notification, which is March 1, 2023.
