ICAI Invites Suggestions for Pre-Budget 2018 Memorandum to FinMin (Govt. of India)

The ICAI has invited suggestions for identifying issues relating to Direct Taxes (including International Taxation)  and Indirect Taxes for inclusion in the Pre-Budget 2018 Memorandum, which is to be submitted to the FinMin (Govt. of India).

The Direct Taxes Committee, Indirect Taxes Committee and Committee on International Taxation of ICAI are in the process of identifying issues for inclusion in the Pre-Budget Memoranda 2018 to be submitted to the Ministry of Finance or respective State Ministry.

Suggestions under the following heads are invited on laws relating to Direct Taxes (including International Taxation) and Indirect Taxes:

Direct Taxes (including International taxation): 

i) Suggestions for widening the tax base and increasing the tax revenue

ii) Suggestions to check tax avoidance

iii) Suggestions to reduce/ minimize litigation

iv) Suggestions for rationalization of the provisions of Direct Tax Laws

v) Suggestions for removing administrative and procedural difficulties

Indirect Taxes: 

i) Goods & Services Tax

ii) Customs Law

iii) Central Excise Law (to the extent applicable on specific goods)

iv) The suggestions for widening the tax base, increasing the tax revenue, check tax avoidance and to reduce/ minimize litigation may also be provided.
