The Ministry of Education, Government of India, is set to organize a Young Authors’ Conference on April 12th and 13th, 2023, in New Delhi. This prestigious event is being held as part of the calendar of events for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit 2022-23, under the current Chairmanship of the SCO. National Book Trust, India, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, has been appointed as the implementing agency for the conference.
Exploring Civilizational Dialogue Among SCO Member Nations
The Young Authors’ Conference aims to promote civilizational dialogue among the SCO member nations, with a focus on perspectives from young scholars. The event will cover sub-themes such as history and philosophy, economy, religion, culture, literature, and science and medicine.
The conference builds on the foundation laid during the Joint Address of Heads of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation for Youth in 2018. This event outlined a wide policy framework for engaging the youth of SCO member states, with the goal of channeling their energy into creative and productive paths that foster global understanding and dialogue.
A Dynamic Platform for Youth Empowerment and Innovation
The two-day SCO Young Authors’ Conference will provide a dynamic platform for exploring modern education, training, and advanced training opportunities for young people. It will also encourage wider involvement in entrepreneurial activities and innovative projects.
During India’s ongoing “SCO Council of Heads of States” Presidency, the SCO aims to advance the theme of ‘SECURE’ (Security, Economic cooperation, Connectivity, Unity, Respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and Environment). This theme was first articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the SCO Summit in Qingdao in 2018.
Fostering Collaboration and Exchange Among Young Authors
The SCO Young Authors’ Conference serves as an essential platform for fostering collaboration and exchange among young authors and scholars from diverse cultural backgrounds. By bringing together creative minds from the SCO member states, the conference encourages mutual understanding, respect, and appreciation for each other’s history, culture, and traditions.
Encouraging Cross-Cultural Learning and Networking
The event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and keynote speeches by renowned scholars and experts from the participating countries. These interactive sessions will enable the young authors to share their perspectives, learn from their peers, and establish valuable connections for future collaborations.
Showcasing Talent and Celebrating Diversity
The Young Authors’ Conference also provides an opportunity to showcase the literary and academic talents of the young scholars. By presenting their work to an international audience, the participants can gain valuable exposure and feedback. Furthermore, the event will celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the SCO member nations, highlighting the unique contributions of each country to the global tapestry of knowledge and ideas.
Strengthening the Ties Among SCO Member Nations
The SCO Young Authors’ Conference plays a significant role in strengthening the ties among the member nations, promoting a sense of unity and shared purpose. By engaging the youth of these countries in meaningful dialogue, the event contributes to the overall stability and prosperity of the region.
