Why is it important to update your profile with GSTIN?

The ICAI has made it mandatory to update the GSTIN at the SSP portal to ensure that the tax invoices are generated with accurate information. The GSTIN of the CA firm/LLP in which the member is a proprietor/individual, partner, or a paid assistant is required to be provided. This information will be used to issue tax invoices for the membership fee and COP fees payable for the financial year 2023-24.

To submit the GSTIN at the SSP portal, members need to follow these steps:

i) Login to SSP;

ii) Go to “Profile Update” and edit the Member’s Profile;

iii) Choose GSTIN Update Check Box;

iv) For Partners and Paid Assistants, the Firm Nos will get listed. Choose the one which is relevant;

v) Provide the Firm’s GSTIN or Personal GSTIN;

vii) Generate OTP to Submit.

After the submission, the updation will be approved within seven working days. Members are advised to update their profile with GSTIN latest by 15th April, 2023*, failing which the information will not be considered for the issuance of tax invoices for the financial year 2023-24.

Conclusion

In conclusion, updating your profile with GSTIN at the ICAI SSP portal is mandatory for all members to ensure accurate information for the issuance of tax invoices for the membership fee and COP fees payable for the financial year 2023-24. Members are advised to follow the steps mentioned above and complete the updation process by or before the last date (i.e. 23rd April, 2023), to avoid any inconvenience. By doing so, they will help in ensuring smooth processing of their membership fee and COP fees.
