The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), on December 14, 2022, to collaborate on a variety of academic endeavours, including course delivery, research and publication, knowledge advancement, capacity building, awareness, and advocacy.
IICA has been established by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India, as a think tank and a Centre of Excellence with the intention of fostering the expansion of the corporate sector in India through the application of an integrated and multi-disciplinary strategy. In addition to its responsibility of conducting research in the corporate sector, the IICA has been given the mandate to provide capacity building and advisory services to statutory authorities, the private sector, and the government.
The MOU that was signed between DSNLU and IICA aims to provide academic collaboration, which will involve offering and awarding of degree, diploma, and certificate programmes that are of contemporary importance; the exchange of members of the faculty and students; research and publication; other academic activities; the offering of expert advice and consultancy; and the conduct of joint workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Further, there will be active efforts by IICA and DSNLU to develop joint training and research programmes that will be pursued in a spirit of collaboration. The MOU will encourage further development in the provision of postgraduate courses such as LL.M, as well as the joint organisation of awareness and outreach programmes for the advantage and welfare of the society and humanity.
Prof. (Dr.) S. Surya Prakash, Vice-Chancellor of DSNLU, and Shri. Praveen Kumar, Director General and Chief Executive Officers (DG & CEO) of the IICA, signed the MOU.
During the event, Professor (Dr.) K. Madhusudhana Rao, Registrar I/c., Professor (Dr.) A. Rajendra Prasad, Professor of Eminence, Professor (Dr.) Pyla Narayana Rao, Associate Professor, IICA, and (Dr.) Dayananda Murthy C.P. Director, Academic Affairs and Research were also present.
