Roll-out of ‘Intra-State e-Way Bill system’ in Various States (from various Dates), for movement of goods within respective States

So far, the Govt. has  publicized roll out plan for ‘Intra-state e-Way Bill system’ in 12 States (i.e. Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh from 15 April, 2018/ Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura and Uttarakhand from 20 April, 2018/ Maharashra from 1 May 2018), for movement of goods within the respective States. Details are as under:

A. Roll-out of Intra State e-Way Bill system in Maharashtra from 1 May, 2018

Maharashtra State Tax has notified that ‘Intra-state e-Way Bill system’ will be rolled out from 1 May 2018 in the State of Maharashtra, for movement of goods within the State, as under:

Notification No. 15B/2018 -State Tax. No. JC(HQ)-1/GST/2018/Noti/1/E-way Bill/ADM-8. Dated 18th April, 2018 

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (d) of sub-rule (14) of rule 138 of the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017, the Commissioner of State Tax, Maharashtra State, hereby makes the following amendments in the Notification No. JC(HQ)-1/GST/ 2018/Noti/1/E-way Bill/ADM-8 (Notification No. 15A/2018), dated the 27th March 2018, published in the Maharashtra Government Gazette, Extra-ordinary, Part-II, No. 21, dated the 31st March 2018, namely :-

In the said notification, for the clause 2 the following shall be substituted,-

” 2. This notification shall remain in force until 30th April 2018 “

B. Roll-out of Intra State e-Way Bill system from 20 April, 2018 in 6 more States

CBIC (CBEC) has issued a Press Release about Roll-out of ‘Intra-state e-Way Bill system’ in 6 more States (i.e. Bihar, Jharkhand, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Tripura and Uttarakhand), for movement of goods within respective States, w.e.f. 20 April, 2018, as under:

As per the decision of the GST Council, e-Way Bill system for all inter-State movement of goods has been rolled out from 01st April, 2018. As on 15th April, 2018, e-Way Bill system for intra-State movement of goods has been rolled out in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. E-Way Bills are getting generated successfully and till 17th April, 2018 more than one crore thirty three lakh e-Way Bills have been successfully generated which includes more than six lakh e-Way Bills which have been generated for intra-State movement of goods from 15th to 17th of April, 2018.

It is hereby informed that e-Way Bill system for intra-State movement of goods would be implemented from 20th April, 2018 in the following States:-

(i) Bihar; (ii) Jharkhand; (iii) Haryana; (iv) Himachal Pradesh; (v) Tripura; and (vi) Uttarakhand.

With the roll-out of e-Way Bill system in these States, it is expected that trade and industry will be further facilitated insofar as the transport of goods is concerned, thereby eventually paving the way for a nation-wide single e-Way Bill system. Trade and industry and transporters located in these States may obtain registration enrolment on e-Way Bill portal namely https://www.ewaybillgst.gov.in at the earliest without waiting for the last date.

C. Roll-out of Intra State e-Way Bill system from 15 April, 2018 in 5 States

CBIC (CBEC) has issued a Press Release about ‘Intra-state e-Way Bill system’ initially in 5 States (i.e. Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh) for movement of goods within respective States, w.e.f. 15 April, 2018, as under:

As per the decision of GST Council, e-Way Bill system for all inter-State movement of goods has been rolled-out from 01st April, 2018. E-way Bill system for Intra-State movement of goods in the State of Karnataka is also operational from the said date.  E-Way Bills are getting generated successfully and till 09th April, 2018 more than sixty three lakh e-Way Bills have been successfully generated.

It is hereby informed that e-Way Bill system for Intra-State movement of goods would be implemented from 15th April, 2018 in the following States:-

(i) Andhra Pradesh; (ii) Gujarat; (iii) Kerala; (iv) Telangana; and (v) Uttar Pradesh
