Govt. Notification on ‘Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 2017’

Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 2017 has been notified by the Govt., which is based on a Bill in Loksabha to further amend the Customs Act, 1962, the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, the Central Excise Act, 1944, the Finance Act, 2001 and the Finance Act, 2005 and to repeal certain enactments, as under:

The following Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on 31th March, 2017:—

BILL NO. 69 OF 2017

A Bill further to amend the Customs Act, 1962, the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, the Central Excise Act, 1944, the Finance Act, 2001 and the Finance Act, 2005 and to repeal certain enactments

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Sixty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—

Short title and commencement

1. (1) This Act may be called the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 2017. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint:

Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the commencement of that provision. (…contd… please refer attachment)
