Satellite Launch Services Exempted from GST: CBIC Notifications

Satellite launch services are now exempt from GST, as per the GST Council’s recommendations.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has accordingly notified that this exemption is applicable to all taxpayers, including private sector players.

Previously, only services provided by ISRO, ACL or NSIL were exempt, but now all organizations offering satellite launch services, including private sector entities, are eligible for the exemption.

The effective date of this change is 27/07/2023.
