ICAI Convocations 2022 for New CAs held at 14 Locations

ICAI organised a Convocation Ceremony at about 14 locations across the country to award membership certificates to approximately 20,000 newly enrolled Chartered Accountants (CAs)/Members and to honour the CA Final exam (May 2022) rank holders.

Chief Guest at New Delhi was Shri Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, and Textiles. CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, CA. Aniket Talati, ICAI Vice-President and Central/ Regional Council Members were also present on the occasion. In Delhi, almost 2600 members received Certificates of Membership and Rank Certificates on 06/10/2022.

14 venues around the country held the convocation concurrently. Shri G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Development of North-Eastern Region, was the Chief Guest in Hyderabad, while Shri (Dr.) Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad was the Chief Guest in Aurangabad.

Shri Piyush Goyal congratulated newly enrolled CAs in New Delhi. The Minister said, “Chartered Accountants are Ambassadors of this honourable profession, keeping their head high as the nation progresses.” All CAs are proud to serve the nation and the world in a noble profession. The Minister said, “CA signifies a “Can Do” attitude, and young people should adopt it and work for national progress. Chartered Accountants are economic ambassadors. They act as a link between the government and taxpayers. “CAs’ signatures are crucial.”

ICAI’s role has changed to suit changing requirements and new challenges. Today, ICAI has produced a wide pool of Chartered Accountants, vital for the country’s economy, industry, business, and good governance.

CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, President, ICAI, addressed newly registered CAs: “I welcome you all to this wonderful profession where you may contribute totally to the economic prosperity of our nation.” In this field, success takes hard effort and dedication. Let’s applaud your hard work.” ICAI’s president remarked, “Started in 1949 with 1700 members, ICAI is now the second largest accounting organisation in the world with over 3.60 lakh members. ICAI has 5 Regional Councils, 166 branches, and 7.60 lakh students. It has 44 Chapters and 33 Representative offices outside India.

The ICAI holds Convocation twice a year to give Certificates of Membership to newly enrolled CAs. The Convocation aims to gather junior members of the profession under the Chartered Accountants fraternity and develop a sense of belonging.

CA. Aniket Talati, Vice-President, ICAI, said participants, “Each of you will be a Brand Ambassador for our 73-year-old profession. I advise newly minted Chartered Accountants to explore for new opportunities. India will lead the next growth orbit, and I’m convinced the profession will be a value-creation driver.

ICAI’s role has changed to suit changing requirements and new challenges. Today, ICAI has produced a wide pool of Chartered Accountants, vital for the country’s economy, industry, business, and good governance. Only those with a high level of knowledge, intelligence, experience, and mastery of the subjects covered by Chartered Accountancy can qualify as Chartered Accountants. CAs have profound knowledge and work hard.

This was an exciting event for the ICAI and for the Chartered Accountants who received their membership certificate. The ICAI Convocation Ceremony is a prestigious event and an important milestone in the life of newly qualified Chartered Accountants. It is a time to formally celebrate their success and to look forward to their bright future.

ICAI Announcement dt. 19/09/2022 on Schedule of Convocation Programme 2022

Next ICAI Convocation Programme 2022 for distributing certificates to the newly qualified Chartered Accountants (NQCAs)/ Members enrolled during the period ‘September 2021 to April 2022‘, along with Rank holders of CA Final (November 2021) Exams, has been scheduled for 06/10/2022, which is to be organized at Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Ludhiana, Mumbai, New Delhi and Pune.

ICAI Convocations Programme 2022 for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants (NQCAs)

As per ICAI, all eligible participants will be intimated individually giving details of venue, timings, option to change of Centre, etc. by the respective Regional Offices, for confirmation of their participation in the 2022 Convocation. Further, the details of Programme would be hosted at ICAI website shortly.

Participants have been advised to make necessary travel arrangements, etc., accordingly.
